The Citizens Advice Bureau is a voluntary service, which relies on volunteers, not only to train as advice workers, but also to participate in its management, administration, publicity and campaigning work. CAB is in the front line tackling social exclusion.
Haddington currently employs one full time manager, Money Adviser and administrator. The Bureau also has specialist project staff including two part time Homeless Intervention Advisers, full time Home Visitor, a part time GP Surgery Adviser, Mental Health Adviser. In 2010, a new project started with a full time In Court Adviser. Two part time admin support staff support the money advice and some of the projects.

There are opportunities for experienced workers to train for specialist work in money advice, representation and tutoring.
We recruit all the time for advice workers. People don't need formal qualifications to be an advice worker but you do need to be able to listen, communicate on a variety of levels and empathize with client's situations.
